Olivia Watson- Coach, Trainer, Practitioner

Ive been at this PT thing for a fair while, since 2004. Crazy right?! Straight out of college. The plan originally, was to support myself through design school, but one thing lead to another, and there was a gap in the market in the corporate health and fitness space. I ran with that at full pace for 17 years. We achieved a lot actually. Worked with both private and government agencies in Canberra. Some, but not all, including; Australian War Memorial, Department of Agriculture, Computer Science Corporation, Icon Water, Actew AGL, Department of Defence, National Film and Sound Archive, The MS Society, PWC, Department of Health and The Department of Education, to name a few. Also branching out, putting together the in-patient health and fitness program for the Adult mental health ward and the student health and fitness program Campbell primary school. What a ride.

I developed some skills, i’ll tell you what. Im a strength and conditioning coach, starting a sport coaching science degree at UC. With all our corporate work the most important part of my job, for a long time, was helping my clients who were chained to their desks, correct the dysfunction that sitting all day creates, pushing me down the road of mobility and rehab.

Ive strength trained since i was 14 years old. I had an under-active thyroid and was told to weight train to increase muscle mass and metabolism and haven’t stopped since. This forming the foundation of my firm belief, that strength and muscle mass is king, and we should all be trying as hard as we can to get it, and keep it, at all costs. This, of course, is backed up by countless scientific studies with indisputable evidence proving that if you had to do one thing for your health, the one thing that creates the most significant improvements on all functions of the body (and mind), is weight training. Of course, you need to do it well, and you need to do it right, so since retiring from my corporate health company, thats what i work on with my clients. Get stable. Get strong. Get fit. Get healthy.

Helping people achieve levels of mobility and strength they didn’t think they would ever reach again. To get stronger than they ever thought possible. To stay pain free and strong through marathon preps. To get strong enough to play with their kids and grand kids. To get off pain, blood pressure and cholesterol medication. Increase bone density, muscle mass, cardiac capacity. To be fit and healthy enough to go on long holidays in retirement. To keep them doing their favourite sports, activities and hobbies in their later decades. Changing thought patterns. Building better habits. This is what it’s all about now. Helping people live well and live long! And I’m loving it.
